Dr. Steven L. Chipps has been a Baptist pastor for over 23 years. His experience, wisdom and enthusiasm for God make him a powerful proclaimer of God's word. Dr. Chipps has experienced a lot of adversity in his life. He's battled cancer three different times and had a son born deaf. God has brought this man through many trials and is using him to encourage people. His main purpose in life is to bring lost souls to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dr. Chipps is a dynamic Bible preacher & teacher. His refreshing and straight forward style of preaching is enhanced by his practical illustrations that can be applied with Biblical principles to contemporary problems.

Dr. Chipps believes that church should be exciting and fun and should be enjoyed, not endured. He and his wife, Kristie, reside in Thomasville, NC. They have one son, Zacharia, and wife Emily.

Kristie Chipps is the youth director and outreach coordinator of Hillside Park Baptist Church.  Working with kids is a calling upon her life shown in many ways including twenty-two years of experience teaching elementary students in the public school system.  Kristie has a heart for kids and missions so this is a perfect fit for her.

Kristie and her husband, Pastor Steve Chipps, have been happily married since 1993.   God has blessed them with a son, Zacharia.  Two of the most precious gifts are their grandsons, Laklen - 2021 and Oaklan - 2023.

Kristie has been an active member of HPBC since 2005 working alongside her husband in his ministry here through Vacation Bible School, teaching youth ministry classes, participating in the music program and being involved with numerous outreach activities.

Kristie was raised in church and knew how to “walk-the-walk” and “talk-the-talk” of a Christian.  It wasn’t until February, 2005 that she prayed the prayer of salvation.  God has worked so many miracles in her life but the gift of salvation has been the greatest.
